General Guidelines For Submission of Abstract

  • Registration for the 17th ISPPD PG convention 2020 is must for the (oral/poster/video presentation/table clinic) acceptance of abstract.
  • Abstracts must be original and should not have been published or presented any where in the past.
  • Only one presentation is accepted per person
  • All the abstracts submitted by students must be authorized by the Heads of the department
  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited & the presenter will be disqualified if found guilty of plagiarism.
  • 1st year PG can present poster or video presentation; 2nd & 3rd year PG can present oral presentation or video presentation or table clinic; Faculty delegates can do poster presentation or video presentation or table clinic.
  • The primary author would receive a coded number and acceptance from the scientific committee upon successful acceptance.
  • Each theme would have a winner and runner up in the respective categories of oral presentation, poster presentation, table clinic & video presentation. All of them would be awarded with certificate of honor and would have the option of getting their work published free of cost in IJCPD.
  • The winners of each theme in oral and poster presentation would be presenting in the main auditorium again on the subsequent day to decide the overall best paper and poster of the convention which would be rewarded with special prizes in addition to the above mentioned prizes.
  • The Abstract form has to be submitted online only. The home page of the website www.pedovention2020.com will have the scientific icon through which the submission has to be completed. The abstracts can be submitted from 15th Dec 2019 to 15th Jan 2020.

Abstract Format

  • Language: English
  • Font Size: 12
  • Font Type: Times New Roman
  • Spacing: Single line
  • Title: Should be as brief as possible and typed in sentence case
  • Authors: A maximum of 3 authors are allowed per submission including the primary author.
  • The affiliation details of all authors including department, institution should be mentioned in the form.
  • Abstract Text Word Limit should not exceed 250 words.
  • Only structured abstracts in proper format would be accepted

Presentation Guidelines

  • Oral Presentation

    • Presentation should be on Microsoft Power-point 2007 or latest
    • Presenters should strictly adhere to the allotted time
    • Only one person will be presenter however each presentation can enlist 2 more co-authors but only the presenting author will be awarded the certificate.
    • The identity of the presenter and institutional background should not be revealed. Any attempt to reveal identity will attract disqualification from the competitive category
    • Maximum time allotted is 6+2=8 minutes (Presentation + Q & A)
    • The decision of the scientific team will be final and binding.

  • Poster Presentation

    • The poster should be prepared in Potrait format with size 2X3. The poster will have to be displayed in the poster exhibition area.
    • It has to be on photo sheet variant paper with matt finish.
    • The posters should not mention authors and affiliation details but need to mention the scientific poster code.
    • Maximum 2 persons can present poster & both will get certificate individually.
    • Maximum time allotted is 2+1=3 minutes (presentation + Q & A)
    • The decision of the scientific team will be final and binding.
    • All sticking materials will be provided by organisers
    • Themes for poster presentation:

      • Pedia-Tricks
      • Alternative Medicine – Hacks or Quacks
      • Contemporary Behavior Management Techniques
  • Video Presentation

    • A 2 minutes video on any of the following topics can be made.
    • Maximum 2 persons can make one video & each shall be given certificate.
    • Themes
      • Promotion of Pediatric Dentistry in general public
      • School based learning program for children
      • Teachers training videos
  • Table Clinic Presentation

    • Each table clinic can be presented by three delegates during the competition.
    • All of them must be present at the table throughout the judging of their session and will be given certificates individually.
    • All displays, including charts, models, projector, screen, etc., must be confined to the table top; the table measures 2.5ft x 5ft and is 2.5ft high.
    • Maximum time allotted is 5+5=10 minutes (presentation + Q & A)
    • There should be no mention of authors or affiliation details on any materials during the judging session.
    • Visual aids may be developed and used to supplement the clinic. Monitor /laptop or tablets may be used but their use must be confined to the table top and no audio will be permitted on them.
    • The handouts if distributed must only be a one-page
    • The presenters must be ready with their setups at least 30 minutes before the beginning of judging.
  • Quiz

    • Each Team can comprise of max. 4 post graduate participants.
    • Only single entry per college/Institute will be allowed and once entered, the team participants can’t be altered in any round.
    • First elimination round
      • Team members will be given Multiple Choice Questions to be solved in 10 minutes.
      • Top five teams will be selected and will be proceed for the final round
    • Final Round
      • Basic Sciences round: 3 questions for each team from different topics related to Basic sciences
      • Pediatric Dentistry round: 3 questions for each team from different topics related to Pediatric dentistry
      • GK round: 3 questions for each team from different topics related to General knowledge
      • Know your teacher round: 10 questions pertaining to Pediatric Dentists will be asked and this will be the buzzer round
      • Rapid Fire Round: Each team will have to answer 8 questions in 1 minute time.
    • In case of tie of results scores of round 1 and round 2 will be considered; each answer will carry 10 marks.
    • Decision of quiz master will be final and binding in case of any conflicts
